If you have several, most, or all of your teeth missing, you may be experiencing difficulty with speech as well as chewing your food.

You may also suffer from a lack of self-confidence due to your missing teeth. Implant-supported dentures may be the answer for you. They can restore your self-confidence, your ability to speak clearly, and your ability to chew your food. If you’re interested in getting affordable, quality implant-supported dentures, then call our Union office to learn more.

How Are Implant-supported Dentures Better?

Implant dentures are better because they’re permanently attached to your jawbone with a biocompatible titanium post that functions like the root of a tooth. Implant-supported dentures are available in two types: ball-retained dentures or bar-retained dentures. The ball-retained dentures have ball-shaped attachments that insert into sockets on the denture, which keeps the dentures from moving. Bar-retained dentures have a curved metal bar that supports the implants and the dentures are clipped onto the bar. Neither type will move or slip or fall out. They’re both permanent installations that provide you with the freedom to pursue your activities, in the same way your natural teeth did. Implants require no special maintenance, no messy adhesives, and with proper care and maintenance, they shouldn’t need to be replaced.

Will Implant-Support Dentures Be Secure and What’s the Installation Procedure?

Implant-supported dentures are very securely attached, so you needn’t worry that they’ll slip or slide or fall out. They’re permanently installed onto surgically inserted posts, so they can’t move. Depending on the type of denture you select, your installation procedure may vary slightly, but the general procedure will take one to three office visits. Some patients are candidates for our dentures-in-a-day option, but this is at the discretion of your dentist. Otherwise, you’ll have two or three office visits for the entire installation procedure.

During your first appointment, your dentist will prep the sites, and then install the biocompatible titanium posts into your jawbone. Depending on your physiology, healing can take up to six months, and after the sites have healed, you’ll return to our office. We’ll make sure the tops of the implants are exposed, and then we’ll attach the dentures to the posts. You shouldn’t experience any significant pain. Usually, it’s mild and can be controlled by over-the-counter pain medications, but let us know if yours is significant. Call our Union office today to learn more or to schedule an appointment.

How Expensive Are Implant Dentures?

Your implant-supported dentures cost will be unique to you and will be influenced by the type of implant you select, the number of office visits required, additional dental treatments you need, and your insurance benefits. Although the cost of denture implants may be slightly more expensive initially, they require no special maintenance, no messy adhesives, and they don’t break. Over time, you may find that implants are more cost-effective than regular dentures. If you need implants but have financial constraints, let us know. We’ll strive to provide you with affordable, quality implant-supported dentures that will fit your budget, so call our Union office today to learn more.

Are Implant-supported Dentures Really Any Better Than Regular Dentures?

Many people prefer denture implants because they’re so reliable, they look very natural, they last for decades or a lifetime, and they don’t slip or slide or fall out. Implant-supported dentures can restore your self-confidence and elevate your self-esteem while they enable you to resume an active lifestyle and eat the foods that you like.

Implant-supported dentures use an acrylic base for the gums, and it’s very natural looking. The teeth are made from acrylic or porcelain, so they look like your natural teeth. Unless you tell them, no one will be able to discern that you’re wearing dentures, and you’ll always have a full set of teeth in your mouth. Your self-confidence will increase because you’ll have a full set of beautiful, healthy teeth. Call American Dental Center at (908) 279-0623 for more information or to schedule an appointment for denture implants in Union.

What’s the Maintenance Regimen for Implant-supported Dentures?

Denture implants require no special maintenance routine, but they do require a regimen of good oral hygiene. They aren’t maintenance-free. For example, if you don’t take good care of them, they will not last. Brushing and flossing at least twice daily, using an antibacterial mouthwash, and having regular dental checkups will keep your implants in good condition. With superior care they can last for your lifetime. When you brush, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and hold it at an angle to your gums. Use a horizontal motion to brush thoroughly and remember to floss. Your dentist may recommend a proxabrush for deep cleaning and a dental threader for areas that are hard to reach. Call our Union office if you have questions or want to schedule a consultation.
